During the last week of July, Evan split his chin open while jumping into the swimming pool. Since we had to stay out of the water for a week, we tried to think of other things to keep us busy. I didn't think Evan would particularly enjoy "watching" us swim and enjoy ourselves, while he sat outside the pool and melted into the pavement due to extreme heat.
So, one day, we decided to invite some friends, Hailey and Chandler, and head up the freeway a few minutes to a little dairy where the kids could feed the farm animals. It was soooo hot - you can see it in the kids' red faces, but it didn't seem to stop them from having fun! When we were done feeding the animals, we washed our hands and bought some yummy chocolate milk (which obviously comes from brown cows) :) and donuts. We sat on some picnic benches and ate our treat while we watched the animals. It was a really fun afternoon. The kids learned that you don't have to go swimming to have fun!
