Christmas

We decided to stay home for Christmas this year. It was a hard decision...we love being with our family, but had decided that with all the busyness of moving in September and Evan being baptized the first weekend in January, we decided it would be a nice year to stay home.  We had a lot of fun. It was really relaxing. Becca kept saying that it didn't feel like Christmas - I think because we didn't travel. Christmas was fun. Christmas eve we opened our traditional pajamas. We read the Christmas story and played some games. The kids had a fun Christmas. Carter and Becca both got a penny skateboard. Evan got some legos and a new scooter, Emma got a new desk for her bedroom, and Kate got the stompies and Pillow pet night light she had been asking for (thanks to the commercials she watched on t.v.) We did some fun things as a family: played flag football at the park, rode our bikes/rollerblades/skateboards to White Lime (or Light Whime as Kate calls it), went ice skating (Kate didn't want to try so Jon and I took turns watching from behind a window), saw a movie, went to the new trampoline park, and rode out to the desert to visit a small zoo.

 Christmas morning

 Kate and her new Stompies, which ended up being a flop of a present. In order to make the eyes and ears pop up, you pretty much have to jump up and stomp really hard. The commercial makes it look like you just walk around and they do that. Lesson learned. Don't watch t.v.

 Ice Skating

 This is after our game of football. We are looking pretty weird. I think we were all trying to make "tough guy" faces. For some of us, me included, they ended up being just weird faces. Becca's friend, Corrinne came along with us.

 Trampoline park

 Kate did not want to go into the little room for kids her size. I could tell she really did but was too shy, she was just putting up a little fit. Then we realized that Evan was right at the height between the big kids and the little kids room so he could go with her. That was all she needed. He was sweet to go in with her and they had a lot of fun.

 Kate and Evan wanted their picture taken on every single animal statue. 

 Carter and Becca decided to join in the fun. Someday Carter is going to look back at all his pictures and say, "Why did I always have the same goofy face" :)
