Le Chicken Coop

We had such a fun time at my sister, Kaysha's house during the Thanksgiving break. She recently moved out into the country on 7 acres. It's such a contrast from where we live - we love to be there. I love it because the kids get to be around animals and since we don't have any, it's especially fun. They have cats in the barn, chickens in the coop, and a chocolate lab running around in the yard. We had a great Thanksgiving dinner out on the "farm." Thanks Kaysha for letting us all hang out at your house. Next year - Thanksgiving at our house?? Maybe we'll have more room by then. :)

They recently finished building their chicken coop. This is the fanciest chicken coop in the county!! She said she's seen a few people stop by and take a picture. Those are happy chickens.

Kate loved the little barn kittens. It was fun to climb up on the hay and play with the cats. I think Jon agreed that a barn is a good place for a cat. :)

When the sun begins to go down, the chickens fly up to these bars (not sure what they're called) and they sleep like that - crazy. Doesn't it seem like it would be more comfortable snuggled up in some hay on the ground, rather than balancing all night on a balance beam. I guess that's why they're chickens and we're humans.
Carter overcoming his fear of big dogs. He's doing a pretty good job.
Becca congregates with the chickens at dinner time - yum - apples!! I'm telling you, these chickens are living the high life and they probably don't even know it.
